Juan Manuel Marquez shares his thoughts about New York City

Translation Below:

Interviewer: "We are here in New York with Juan Manuel Marquez. First lets talk about your flight here you had with Oscar. How do you feel?"

Juan Manuel Marquez: "It was a great experience; I talked with Oscar de la Hoya as well as people from Golden boy Productions and HBO. I feel a bit tired with all we went through yesterday in Los Angeles but I’m happy."

Interviewer: "Now that you are in New York what do you think about the Big Apple?"

JJM: "I've seen a lot of people from all counties, I’ve seen a lot of Mexicans, a lot of Latinos and I'm happy here in New York there are a lot of Mexican people."

Interviewer: "What are the places here in New York you would like to visit if you have the time?"

JJM: "Well I would like to see ground zero, I would like to visit 5th avenue and do some shopping, also I would like to see Saint Patrick’s church. The last time I came here I only saw it from outside I would like to explore it."

Interviewer: "Frank Sinatra said if you can make it in New York you can make it anywhere, what do you feel when you see so many supporting you here in New York where you don’t come often?"

JJM: "For me it’s a source of great satisfaction, and just like Frank Sinatra said I made it here, the people here are supporting me and this for me is out of the ordinary. I didn't think so many people would be interested in this fight."

Interviewer: "How much did the time change affect you?"

JJM: "It affected me a lot, yesterday I came here finding myself falling asleep standing up, falling asleep with my eyes open but that was because I've been very busy the last couple of days and to wake up I took a short jog."

Interviewer: "One last thing, when you were at the top of the empire state building you had a chance to see the city from a new angle. What did you about it?"

JJM: "It's a very beautiful city, the buildings, how the streets are designed, the Hudson River. It’s all very beautiful and seeing it from such a high places makes it more so."

Interviewer: "If you were to take a jog where would you like to run?"

JJM: "We are going to see if I can take a run in Central Park. The first time I came here I ran there. Right now we are very busy but I would love to do it."
